Drowning prevention classes help give the children the tools they need to help themselves in a dangerous situation. The primary purpose of this class is to orient the child to the water and prepare them to learn to swim. The foundational skills of drowning prevention classes are buoyancy, balance and breath control. Knowing how and when to breathe in the water is a crucial skill that should be taught to children at a young age. Combine that with knowing how to roll to the back and float, and you have taught that child an irreplaceable skill.
Learn to swim classes teach the foundations of swimming technique to create a strong independent swimmer. This builds upon the student’s basic skills in order to learn a variety of propulsive movements. As the student increase their foundational skills, they learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance. The student will learn how to swim the strokes in order of difficulty beginning at freestyle, then backstroke, then breaststroke finally butterfly.
Competitive stroke technique classes focus on the 4 competitive strokes. Learning how to fine-tune a stroke will produce an efficient and fast swimmer. The main objective of this class is to increase endurance and stroke proficiency. Competitive stroke technique is designed for those who already have an understanding of the four competitive strokes. The class focuses on making strokes more fluid creating a more efficient stroke. Goal oriented classes can help competitive swimmers, triathletes trying to reduce times, or those looking to swim for exercise.
